Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech → Tizi n'Test Pass → Taroudant We leave Marrakech, taking the spectacular and less-traveled road over the Tizi n'Test pass (2,092m) in the High Atlas, offering breathtaking views. We descend into the Souss Valley to arrive at Taroudant, the "Grandmother of Marrakech," for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Taroudant → Tafraoute (Anti-Atlas Mountains) Journey into the heart of the Anti-Atlas mountains to Tafraoute. This region is known for its stunning granite rock formations, including the famous "Painted Rocks," and its unique Amazigh culture. We'll explore the Ameln Valley and stay in a local guesthouse.

Day 3: Tafraoute → Foum Zguid We continue our journey east, traversing incredible desert landscapes and remote mountain passes. We'll stop to see prehistoric rock carvings near Ait Herbil before arriving in Foum Zguid, a true desert outpost and the starting point for our off-road adventure.

Day 4: Foum Zguid → Erg Chigaga Desert Camp Today, we go off-road. Our 4x4 will cross the vast, dry lakebed of Iriqui, a former stage of the Paris-Dakar rally. We venture into the wild dunes of Erg Chigaga, the largest sand sea in Morocco. We arrive at a secluded desert camp for an evening of profound silence and stargazing.

Day 5: Full Day in Erg Chigaga Explore the wild Sahara. Options include a longer camel trek, visiting a nomadic family to share tea and learn about their way of life, or searching for fossils in the ancient riverbeds. This is a day to disconnect and immerse yourself in the desert's vastness.

Day 6: Erg Chigaga → M'hamid → Draa Valley (Agdz) We continue our 4x4 journey across the desert to M'hamid, the original gateway to the Sahara. Day 7: Agdz → Dades Valley We leave the Draa Valley and head north, passing through the Jbel Saghro mountains. Our route takes us towards the Dades Valley, where we'll explore the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" and admire the "monkey fingers" rock formations.

Day 8: Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Marrakech After breakfast, we drive to Ouarzazate and visit the iconic Ait Benhaddou kasbah. From there, we begin our final crossing of the High Atlas via the more common Tizi n'Tichka pass, completing our mountain loop and arriving back in Marrakech in the evening.

Day 9: Departure from Marrakech Enjoy a final breakfast in Marrakech before we transfer you to the airport (RAK) for your departure, filled with memories of Morocco's hidden corners.
